Rainwater Harvesting Projects

Rainwater harvesting is the simple process or technology used to conserve rainwater by collecting, storing, conveying, and sometimes even purifying precipitation that runs off of rooftops, parking lots, and roads for a future use.  The water can be stored in tanks or natural reservoirs.  Rainwater can also be collected and stored in subsurface aquifers.  After collection, the water can be distributed for a variety of uses.

Your club may want to consider doing a rainwater harvesting project in your community at local government buildings or schools.  Or you could team with a Rotary club outside the U. S. on rainwater collection systems where it is necessary to collect, store, and distribute water for potable or agricultural uses.
