How’s the weather? We have four official seasons, but we all know there are really at least twelve. Sometimes the temperature changes 10 degrees overnight.
Here in Warminster, PA, I call it “Baby Goose Season,” when traffic backs up at select intersections because a family of Canada geese is casually crossing the road. We embrace it. For the few minutes that we don't have, we marvel at those fuzzy little guys waddling in front of our cars. In about another month, we'll be watching where we step because we all know what happens when a gaggle waddles across a parking lot.
Welcome to June: graduations, gardens, blooms, fairs, festivals, Pride, Father’s Day, Juneteenth, and all the excitement that comes with the start of summer. As Bernard Williams wrote, “If a June night could talk, it would probably boast it invented romance.”
This month’s Rotary focus is Fellowships, a great way to connect with Rotarians around the world through shared interests. If you haven’t explored them yet, June is the perfect time to do so.
June also closes out the Rotary year. It’s been an honor to share our District news with you as your newsletter editor. Thank you to Mary Cook for her service as District Governor, and a warm welcome to Jeremiah Sensenig as he leads us into a new Rotary year.

How do you define Fellowship? Is it the feeling you get when you do a service project? Do you associate it with something you apply for, like a Rotary International Peace Fellowship? A group of Rotarians who have a common interest? Yes, yes, and yes! It's all of that.
Rotary Fellowships are global, member-led networks connecting the entire Rotary community through shared hobbies, sports, and professions. Spanning over 100 diverse categories, these international groups foster lifelong friendships far outside local clubs. By uniting individuals across borders, they enrich personal lives, promote deep cross-cultural understanding, and inspire unique service projects.
Here are some ways to bring Fellowships to your club and connect with our monthly theme:
Save time during a regular meeting to discuss the Rotary fellowships. Visit MyRotary.com, look in the back of the Rotary magazine orvisit this Rotary.org page to explore the list of already existing fellowships that your members can join. Discuss the benefits of fellowships.
Learn about Rotary Peace Fellowships. Invite a Rotary Peace Fellow to speak to your club via Zoom, and talk about their path to the Fellowship, what they are studying, and what they plan to do.
Invite a previous Rotary Peace Fellow to your meeting and find out what being a Peace Fellow has meant to their life.
Have a “fellowship” meeting, and invite potential members to see what Rotary is about.

Rotary District 7430 Changeover: July 1
Join fellow Rotarians as we thank DG Mary Cook 2025-26 and welcome incoming District Governor Jeremiah Sensenig for the DG 2026-27 Rotary year. “Changeover” is an annual district-wide celebration that welcomes incoming executive staff at the district and club level for the new fiscal year.
Location: Eight-Twenty at the Mills, Located behind the Sly Fox Taphouse, 820 Knitting Mls Wy # 100, Wyomissing, PA 19610.
District 7430 will issue annual club dues invoices in early August. Clubs will also receive RI (Rotary International) semi-annually dues notices in early July and early January.
As a dues-based nonprofit organization, Rotary relies on member dues to support the work of clubs, the district, and Rotary International.
To ensure accurate billing, clubs should review and update their membership rosters by June 30. Dues are calculated on a per-member basis, and once invoices are issued, adjustments cannot be made until the next billing cycle.
District Treasurer Tom Hartzell (Bethlehem Morning Star) oversees the calculation and administration of district club dues. District dues are being increased to $50 per member annually to cover the cost of PELS and other administrative expenses.
RI Dues are managed directly by Rotary International.
If your club needs assistance updating its membership roster, please contact your Area Assistant Governor or the District Administrative Team as soon as possible. Please do not wait until the end of June.

Virtual District Learning Assembly
On May 16th, a group of committed members convened at the Virtual District Learning Assembly to share ideas, collaborate, and plan for the upcoming year. The District Learning Assembly was designed for all Rotarians who wish to deepen their understanding of leadership roles within their Clubs and gain broader insight into Rotary Club operations. All participants, regardless of current leadership status, were provided with a valuable opportunity to learn about future leadership possibilities. Read more here.
Camp Neidig: Campers are Ready!The Camp Neidig program will run from Friday, June 12, to Monday, June 15th. Don't forget to support this program by attending the closing ceremony and chicken BBQ picnic on 6/15 at 6pm at Camp Manatawny. Click here for more information. River Towns Rotary is chartered! River towns have deep roots in the Delaware River's banks, which daily channel billions of gallons of river energy under the New Hope Lambertville Free Bridge. The Doylestown Rotary Club presented People of Action awards to Amanda Benolken and Harry Boertzel, who helped to found the River Towns Rotary Club. They currently serve as co-Presidents. Youngsters learn how to grow their vegetables and how to cook what they grew. Rotarians watched the kids glowing at the ribbon-cutting ceremony as they talked about what they did with the help of Club members and how they look forward to learning what to do with all the things they can grow. Memorial Day Celebrations around the district:
Allentown West Rotary Club held its 2nd annual Flags For Unity event over Memorial Day weekend. 500 American Flags were publicly displayed honoring heroes, those in the military, veterans, first responders, and loved ones.
The Rotary Club of Spring Township Centennial supported the Berks Catholic Interact Club participating in the Armed Forces Day Parade in May.
Warminster Rotarians participated in the annual township Memorial Day parade and awarded three students scholarships during May.
Yardley Rotary Club participated in the Yardley Borough Memorial Day parade! See the short post here.
Rotary Club of West Reading-Wyomissing supported the Borough of Wyomissing by posting American Flags to highlight their Memorial Day Parade Celebration in their public park.
Spring Cleanups around the district:
Lehigh Valley Passport Rotarians& Allentown West planted fruit and vegetables in the raised beds at Community Bike Works in May.
Kutztown Rotary Club, along with Kutztown Thriving, prepared local gardens for the spring! These spaces support pollinators, brighten the town, and create small moments of connection for everyone who passes by.
Boyertown Rotarians, along with NJROTC cadets, weeded and cleaned up the Spaatz Memorial in Boyertown during May.
Pottstown Rotarians spent an afternoon cleaning up and mulching the pavilion at Riverfront Park.
Warrington Rotarians participated in the Warrington Day of Action at the Mary Barness swim club, doing a spring clean-up.
Other Shoutouts
Rotary Club of Easton held the annual Pack the Purse event in May. Over 90 purses were filled with goodies to benefit women on Mother's Day.
Hamburg Rotary created a new trade school scholarship designed specifically for students who are attending, or plan to attend, a trade school.
Birdsboro Rotarians recently assisted the American Legion Post 626 in selling Poppies. Proceeds go towards supporting Veterans.
Blue Bell Rotarians held a pancake breakfast on May 9th, serving over 250 families, cosponsored by Centre Square Fire Company.
Supporting Food Insecurity
In Pennsylvania, over 1.5 million people (about 1 in every 8 residents) experience food insecurity, including more than 436,000 children. The statewide food insecurity rate stands at 11.9% for the overall population and 16.9% for children.
