The Rotary Foundation is supported solely by voluntary contributions from Rotarians and others who share our vision of a better world. The Rotary Foundation was started by RI President Arch Klumph in 1917 following a RI convention to "do good in the world"... it has gone on to be one of most important ways Rotarians fund projects that meets the Rotary Foundation's Mission:
To enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.
Contributions to Rotary Foundation funds enable Rotarians to carry out humanitarian and educational projects.
Our Rotary Foundation provides donors with three main funds to which they can direct their funds.
- The Annual Fund: which supports the Foundation's humanitarian, educational, and cultural exchange programs worldwide;
- The Endowment Fund: which provides an endowment whose earnings fund the various programs of the Rotary Foundation
- The PolioPlus Fund: which funds Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio.
